John 14:15 Jesus said, If you love me, you will keep my commands. This comes from having intimacy with God. We must develop a true, intimate relationship, getting to know who Jesus is, who Holy Spirit is, and who Father God is. Are we studying this out in The Word on a daily basis? Are we training our ears and hearts to hear God's voice every day? We can do this when we know how much we are loved and how we then begin to love God so much that it brings a powerful trust that cannot be broken.
When we truly love God, then we will be obedient to whatever He says. If you feel like you cannot hear Him through your spirit, then we always have the Word to go to! Jesus is the Word! Are we reading the bible and then hungering to do whatever it says? Even when it clashes with our ways and agendas?
John 14:21 The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and will REVEAL myself to him.
OBEDIENCE TO GOD out of LOVE is key to breakthrough and growing in this life. When you learn how much God truly loves you and is for you, you want to be obedient to anything and everything He says. When we read the Word, it should convict us daily and sharpen us, helping us to crucify our flesh and rewire our minds to push through with whatever God is telling us to do.
When we deliberately disobedient, this exposes wounds in our hearts and usually produces pride that can blind us if we do not surrender to God quickly. Be cautious; rebellion can open doors to deception. Allow God to expose any area in our hearts this season that needs to be exposed. This will help us to surrender and trust Him fully!
We are in a season of powerful breakthroughs. God doesn't want us going around the same mountain for 40 years like the Israelites. Obedience to God out of love will get you to your promised land quicker and more powerfully than anything else in this life. If the Israelites had trusted the Lord and His goodness, they could have made it to the promised land in 11 days!! Now, they were operating from an orphan spirit and had some serious issues with abandonment, which I don't blame them for all they endured under Pharaoh's rule. Still, my point is that we must continue to press in daily to how much God loves us and how much He is for us. Trust that He is good and He has an amazing plan for our lives! We must continue to allow God to expose and then heal our wounds. This will help us to continue moving forward into all that He has for us.
